SAP Financial Accounting (FI) is a module within SAP ERP that focuses on managing financial transactions, accounting processes, and financial reporting in an organization. It provides comprehensive functionalities for financial management, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and financial controlling.

Here are some key features and components of SAP FI:

  1. General Ledger (GL): The GL component is the central repository for financial accounting data. It handles the recording and tracking of financial transactions, such as journal entries, and provides a structured overview of the financial position of the organization.

  2. Accounts Payable (AP): The AP component manages the organization's outgoing payments and liabilities to vendors. It handles tasks such as invoice verification, payment processing, vendor master data maintenance, and reporting.

  3. Accounts Receivable (AR): The AR component manages incoming payments and customer invoices. It handles functions like invoice generation, customer credit management, payment collection, dunning (reminders for overdue payments), and customer account reconciliation.
